I'm not sure where they are.

I just tried mysql.server stop, and got the message "gave up
waiting!".  Egads.

I'm also not sure what would have caused a lock.  All I use the
database for is to store student records.

No answer, as far as I can tell, from the Win terminal I'm at.  I'll
try later from a linux box.
