[liphp] populating option label dynamically

Hi,
In my html form, I have a field which is option label. This form is to edit
a profile of a member who has an account in our web page. 
 So, when the member logs into our web page, he has an option to view his
profile as well as edit it. I don't know to dynamically change the option
label selected depending on the member.
Ex: option label is Mr. Mrs. Ms. Prof. Dr. etc,.
So, if the member has title as Dr. , that should be selected in his profile
page.
Can anybody tell me how to do that.
Hope I am clear in explaining my need.
